Mini-Com Modular Patch Panels are ideal for Category 5e, Category
6, and multimedia applications. They mount to standard EIA 19 inch racks, and
extender brackets are available for use with 23 inch racks. These patch panels
are ideally suited for use with the Pan-Net Cable Management System. Two types
are described below:
- MINI-COM SNAP-IN FACEPLATE PATCH PANELS: These accept
Mini-Com Snap-In Faceplates, which means that color coding is easy, ports
can be added as needed, media can be mixed and matched, and modules can easily
be replaced or switched.
- MINI-COM ALL METAL MODULAR PATCH PANELS: These allow
shielded jacks to be directly bonded to the panel on installation, which makes
them ideal for screen twisted pair applications. No faceplate is required
because the modules snap directly into the panel. These patch panels include
write-on areas for easy cable identification.
There are four simple steps for installing Mini-Com Snap-In
Faceplate Patch Panels:
- STEP ONE: Mount the Mini-Com Snap-In Faceplate Patch Panel and the
cable management panel to a standard EIA 19 inch rack.
- STEP TWO: Remove snap-in faceplates. Terminate modular jacks, fiber
optic adapters, and coax connectors to their respective cables and install
them into the snap-in faceplate. NOTE: Make sure that you maintain pair twists
to within one half inch of termination for high performance copper applications.
- STEP THREE: Once all of the terminated modules have been installed
in the snap-in faceplate, simply snap the faceplate into the patch panel opening.
NOTE: Modules can also be installed into the faceplate when snapped in patch
panel.
- STEP FOUR: Install patch cords into the snap-in slots on the front
of cable management panel.
